Welcome

The mission of the Region 2 South Medical Bio-Defense Network (R2S) is to augment existing resources, regional and community surveillance, emergency management systems and hospital preparedness by Region 2 South - Highlighted on Map of Michigan developing plans that will facilitate a coordinated health care response to disasters throughout the region.

R2S is comprised of four (4) local Medical Control Authorities (MCAs) which had to formally organize, establish a Planning Board and work to develop bioterrorism and emergency preparedness plans in accordance with the established requirements. R2S was formed to facilitate the development of those plans. The region is funded by a federal cooperative agreement (similar to a grant) issued to Michigan for bioterrorism and emergency preparedness planning, which started in 2002 and has been continued through 2008.

These web site pages provide bioterrorism, emergency and disaster preparedness information and preparedness resources for the general public. These pages also provide a secure environment for members of R2S to share planning materials.

If you have any questions or would like to become a member of R2S, please contact our office at 734-727-8001 or visit our online registration request page.
